I have a William Clasey christened 09 January 1670, father William; Thomas Clasie, christened 27 November 1673, father William and Thomas Clasey christened 19 April 1691, father William. I could not find a marriage record for them in the IGI. The spellings of the this name are often like needles in the haystack...Claizy, Claisye, Clezy...I am looking to locate the spouses and the parents of these...trying to finally get them back to find out where they came from. The speculation is that this line was French Huguenot. The name is particularly prominent in Berwickshire after 1691. But...all I can find are bits and pieces and not enough to link all these. I finally find my line in Coldstream...George Claisye married to Agnes Middlemist in 1751. One of their sons, in fact the oldest I have found, was William...the name pops up all over the place...any suggestions or new places to look?

I was just reading through things and now that I am on summer holiday...I realized I never thanked you for all the information you sent!! Your information has been most helpful...especially since I lost my family tree maker and am having to redo the entire thing...5 years of work and over 800 names...
