You say that Berriedale is too far from Latheron, but there you have "Knockally, Berriedale, Latheron".  I've always seen Knockally/Balnabruich together, but never Knockally and Berriedale!
When you get on a roll like this I get confused by the mass of information, so I might just come back to it later. Always advisable to take a break. But yes I think I will make a census look-up thread as you advised. 
PS: I appreciate all your help, btw, the offer of looking up stuff at NRH is still open to you.

Yeah sorry, I do tend to get carried away sometimes
As for Knockally, Berriedale, Latheron (was just transcribing it directly from the census), I meant that the town of Latheron is a fair way from Berriedale....but they are both in Latheron parish 
Get back to me when you have had time to digest it all! And I'll have a look to see if there is anything I need from NRH.
