Queniborough war casualties, Riley
« on: Thursday 28 October 04 05:38 BST (UK) »

Hi,

Can anyone point me to a list of war casualties--both World War One and Two--for Queniborough? I'm particularly looking for details of any of the Riley family, including an Eric Riley who I believe died in France, but unfortunately I don't know during which war... and can't guess, don't have a date of birth, just a photo: http://www.alisontoon.com/mysteryphotos/ericriley.jpg

I have checked http://www.cwgc.org but have not found him.

Thank you! :-)

You may have some success looking around this site:

I eventually found him, in the Commonwealth War Graves directory (cwgc.org):

- his name wasn't Eric, it was E.C. (pencil writing was smudged
on photo and I just saw "Eric"), short for Edward Cecil
- he went by Cecil, not Edward
- and the CWGC record is for C.E. Riley.

Died and buried in Ypres. And now found again! :-)
