Would someone mind looking up theVic. births for Gleeson.
My grandmothers family.   Parents Patrick Gleeson & Mary Ann Eagan (Egan).
Children I know of.
Patrick, Tim (Timothy), Mick (Michael), Tom (Thomas), Ellen, Bridgett and Louisa.
There is said to be three more children.   
Patrick and Mary settled at Heathcote in Victoria.
Would be very grateful for your help.

Children to Patrick GLEESON and Mary EAGAN

Patrick reg 'Spring' 1871 / 5628  [place is probably Spring Flat]
Louisa reg 'Gray' 1872/26524 [place = Graytown]
Thomas reg 'Gray' 1875/2799
Ellen reg 'McIvor' 1877/9304 [McIvor = Heathcote]

they came up easily, I shall have to look for the others!

I could not find any others - using all sorts of wild cards.  If these other children are all younger than Ellen, then they will be listed on that 1877 birth certificate. 

I checked SA births - not there.

I see that there is a Patt GLEESON and Mary EGAN getting married in 1864 - reg no 1832  yet they did not begin reg kids until 1871!  I see no other Pat/Mary Eagan or Egan combination having children.

I will order ellen's cert and see what that brings.  Many thanks.
Possibly some may have been born before 1870.   
Patrick and Mary came from Clare in Ireland.

The children have you got the year on then: Patrick, Tim (Timothy), Mick (Michael), Tom (Thomas), Ellen, Bridgett and Louisa.
Cause under Eagan there are but under HAGEN Mary Ann there are more Children could they have spel it like that there.

There is another possibility - that your family came here with children.  
Ellen's birth certificate will also tell you where and when they married.

The Mary EGAN in that 1864 marriage may have been a widow, which is why children do not show up being born to that couple. Else they left Victoria right after.

Good point, I saw the Mary Ann Hagan ones but thought as they are not until the 1880s, a bit late.   The birthplace "Cos' is probably Costerfield, in the area.  But there are lots of other Gleeson families too.   Smiley

Hello  there 

had  just  printed  it  all  out  cant  figure  out  how  to  save  to  computer  when  phone range  came  back  on  line to  see  the Shirstine  had  done  it  all  so  don't  have  to type  it  out  thanks  mate

now  there  is  a death  in 1948  aged  69  for Michael Gleeson  with  thse  parents  which  would  make  him  born  in 1879  but  no  record

so where  from  here?

age: 54y.

father Egan Ohagan Francis mother Ann Murrita

so  her birth  is 1843C

These kids fit the missing years between the 1864 marriage and the first Eagan one - and of course I was wrong - the Costerfield ones are not to late - only 4 years after the 1877 birth.

Thanks for your endeavours.

I just surfed into the Redcastle Cemetery site.
There are several Gleesons buried there.
There are two Patrick Gleesons one married to Emma Harris and the other to Mary Egan.     Mary Ann daughter of Patrick Gleeson and Mary Egan buried there on 1st February 1896 aged 32. 
There is also another Mary Ann parents O'Hagan Francis Egen and Anne Murrita with Aka Mary Egan? beside it.
A Patrick aged 64 is also buried there...........

So there are several Gleeson families.
