Surnames Perren/Brenchley/Crump
« on: Wednesday 29 November 06 13:50 UTC (UK) »

I am the great grand-daughter of Ellen Harriet Perren (nee Hicks) who was married to Henry Robert Perren, a coastguard, they were living at Bexhill in 1881 at the coastguard station but moved to Dover, Romney Marsh and I think Hastings.

Henry & Ellen had six children, five of which were left behind when Ellen moved north to Yorkshire between 1892 and 1897.

I have found that Alice Emily Perren married William John C. Crump, Eliza Maud Perren married Thomas E Brenchley and George Richard Perren married Lily Elizabeth Romney.

I would be interested to hear from anyone connected with these families with a view to exchanging family history info and photographs.

If you think you are connected you can contact me via this message board or by email to email address removed by moderator - please use the secure Rootschat personal message system to exchange personal contact details - thankyou

kind regards
Wendy Evans

I am also a great granddaughter of this couple  - my grandparents were Eliza Maud Perren and Thomas Brenchley. I know lots about the Brenchleys but only a little about the Perrens. The name of Henry Perren's mother may or may not have been Rosina Hallaway and he was born in 1850 and Helen in 1863, both in Portsmouth. They seem to have travelled along the south coast as my Aunty Helen was born in Bexhill, Aunty Allie (Alice) was born in Eastbourne, Uncle George in Battle and my grandmother in Littlestone. Another son was born between George and Eliza but he died.
I have only just started to try to find out about the Perren and Hicks families so I probably won't be much help to you! My mother (91) and her elder sister (94), the children of Eliza and Thomas, are still with us.
Kind regards,
Eileen.

Hey, that's fab! It's great to hear from you.  I have learnt tons about the Perrens, courtesy of the family of George and Lily Perren.  My email address is wendyevans2008-genes@yahoo.co.uk, let me have yours and I will contact you with some more information, photographs etc.  I also have an extensive family tree on Genes Reunited so if you are also a member we can exchange info that way as well.  I would love to know more about the Brenchley's, all I have is what I have found on censuses, BMD etc.  I also have some family history information on Facebook.

Hope to hear from you soon

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for the swift reply. I'll e-mail you direct so I can attach a file of Brenchley history.
Kind regards,
Eileen.
