GARNETT's of Waterford
« on: Monday 23 February 04 16:00 UTC (UK) »

Are you related to  Quaker family, Garnetts of Waterford. Some members left for Lancashire in the 19th Century, and settled in Latchford. I have dates and names.
My husband's mothers family were Garnetts and we would love to hear from Irish family members. Kiss

Hi Harleychick!

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Thankyou,
It seems now that most members of the family were English, but one member, my husbands great uncle  Edward Garnett did marry a lady called Ann Black from Grange Co. tyrone in 1866,at the meeting house in Waterford. Her parents were Henry and Ruth,--
and his son Ernest was born 1776 in Waterford and died in 1963 in Thurles Tipperary, and is buried in Holy Cross Thurles, so he may have married an Irish girl. All of Edwards Children were born, in Waterford and one child Thomas born 1872 and died 1873 in Waterford, so should be buried there. Is there a Quaker cemetery in Waterford please, as we hope to visit next year
Regards Sheila.
