Hi again,

Genni,
Thank you for offering to check the electoral rolls, that would be brilliant. Also for where all the places mentioned are in relation to Melbourne. It does help to give me an idea where they all lived.

OnJenn,
Thank you for the info on Arthur John, I hadn't got round to checking out the NAA yet, that's my next quest. I had found a son of Julia & Albert Franklin on there. He was Albert Ernest & his record has been digitized. I was amazed at how much info I found. I wish we had the same here in UK for WW1............

Again, many thanks to you all, I still can't get over that 24 hours ago I knew nothing about my grt grt Aunt after 1901, now I have so much more.

One day I might even discover just when they went to Oz. Smiley

My very best
Maddie

Hello  there Madie

checked  the death  index  for vera's  death  but  nothing  up  to  1985 in Victoria  under Sinclair

now without  knowing  Arthur John Sinclair actual  data  from  his  wedding certificate
I have  found  the  death  of a Arthur John Sinclair that matches  his details  from  WW2  nok given as Vera

he  was  born  in 1893  at DIAM reg no 3025
parents William Sinclair  and Margaret Howard

he died  in 1971  aged  78  reg no 202068 at WILL

so  she  married  a  chap  older than  her  too

(must be the water down  in Victoria Kiss sparks em up)

regards jenn

Hello again

I am amazed, you are working wonders. What time is it in Oz ??

It must be an Oz thing to marry older men, or maybe it's just my family. Grin

That could be Vera in Victoria. When I first found my Franklins I was amazed that Eric, the son of Albert E was still here & in his 80's. I have found a few of my Beaments lived to a ripe old age, one of them was 104 when she died. !!!

I shall persue this further. If you find any more I shall be really grateful.

Hi Maddie, if you go to

http://www.whereis.com/whereis/home.do

Type in the Suburb or Town you want.

Select the State, in your case Victoria

Then click GET MAP

You can then zoom in and out to get a relationship to the centre of Melbourne.

This Web site is great for getting a map of the Street (if it still exists) of where your ancestors lived.  Smiley

Hi Kevin

Many thanks for the link, I shall investigate later, it sounds interesting.

Jenn,
Checked the NAA for Arthur John Sinclair & found his WW2 record. I also had a look at the digitized copy of the A J Sinclair above & I'm sure it's the same persons WW1 record.  Smiley

If it is I could well have an address for them in 1961.

Kind regards
Maddie
