Does anyone have access to this please?
The 1841 for Northumberland isn't on Ancestory..........
HO107/0846/F?    CD8 HO_846.pdf p.242
name of Whillance, Cornelius.
Would love the details so I can hopefully find out who his
parents were.

I have access to the 1841 Northumberland Census on disc, although it is also on Ancestry.

Unfortunately your reference is incomplete and there are too many pages to search one by one.

HO107/846 refers to the All Saints area of Newcastle Upon Tyne, but there is no page 242 on any of the six pieces.

Here's an 1851 Census entry that may interest you.

17 Carlton Street, All Saints

Elizabeth WHILLANCE Head Wd 25 Pauper Durham Gateshead
Cornelius W WHILLANCE Son 4 Durham Darlington
Robert D WHILLANCE Son 1 Newcastle on Tyne
John B GREGSON Lodger U 42 Retired Col*** & Chemical Manufacturer Yorks Hull

If your Cornelius WHILLANCE was alive in 1841, then the above info may be useful to keep for reference.

There is a Cornelius WHILLANCE on the 1861 Census, born about 1816 Newcastle - perhaps this is the one you are looking for in 1841?

He married Ann Coatsworth in 1840 at St Nicholas, Gosforth according to the Newcastle online marriage Index.

In 1851 Cornelius and Ann WHILLANCE were in York with 5 children - the eldest John C 10yrs, born in Newcastle.

the birth of John Coatsworth WHILLANCE was registered in Newcastle in 1841 according to the online Index - let me know if you want the GRO reference.

Here is this couple in 1841 - transcribed on Ancestry as Carnelius Whillarce.

HO107/846/6  Folio 35  Page 10
East Ballast Hills, All Saints

Cornelius WHILLANCE 20 Joiner Yes (born in County)
Ann WHILLANCE 20 Yes

That mistranscribed one is the one I was after.
No wonder I didn't find it on Ancestory.
Thank you so much for that.  The rest of the family I have - it was just this 1851 that I needed.
