please can anyone look up the address where matilda midlane was born.I think it was somewhere in carisbrooke i.o.w.,but dont know where,i would love to take a photo of the house.S ::)he was born in 1846.

Welcome to RootsChat.

I'm afraid the exact address is only likely to be shown on the birth certificate and to see the full contents of the birth certificate, it would have to be purchased.  Sad

Matilda was indeed born in 1846 on the Isle of Wight, registered in the Newport district, which would match Carisbrooke.

The family may still be living in the same house in 1851 so an address could be obtained from the census, but since Matilda seems to have had older siblings born in the Ryde district, and a younger sister born in the Cowes district, they seem to have moved around.

Hi Jenny,

I have the birth cert...it just says Scarrots Lane, Newport, which I've been told was a really poor area.  Sad

I'll email a copy.
