Hello
I'm trying to trace the birth of my great grandmother, Florence Spry. Family legend is that she was connected to the Spry family of Place House, Roseland - but another story has her born in Devon. she died in torbay 1996, but as she was estranged from her children, I have no other information. would greatly appreciate any leads..
thanks
Amanda

I have looked at your other posting and would think that this is the correct Florence Spry. If you have the correct year of birth.
1891 census
address 306 Cowbridge Road Canton Glamorgan
Thomas Spry, head, married, age 50, furniture broker, born Devon Plymouth Anne Spry, wife, married, age 30 born Devon Plymouth Louisa Spry, daughter, age 11, scholar born Devon Plymouth Florence Spry, daughter, age 4,scholar born Glamorgan Cardiff RG12/4399 Folio 49 Page 73
I will have a look on the 1901 and post any findings.
Nicky

Oops, sorry, she died 1986 not 96 - typo. Thanks for the information everyone, I've no idea if that's the right family but I'll look into it. As she married a Welshman, would make sense for her to be born in Glamorgan, but we were clearly told by my grandmother that she was Devon or Cornwall (where I'm also looking).
Many thanks
Amanda
