There are two Milltates in Fermanagh one in the Parish of Galloon and the other in the Parish of Derryvullan. Derryvullan means the Oakwood/grove of Maelan which is a personal or family name, Galloon means the river forks of Liúin which is also a Family or Personal name and Milltate is a bi-lingual name meaning the 'Tate'(a land measurment equal to 60 acres) of the Mill.
Regards.

Hello Joani,

What denomination was Constantine Martin? Was she a  member of the Catholic faith, the Established Church (Anglicans or Church of Ireland), a Methodist or a member of the Presbyterian Church?

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

Is Constantine not a male?
Pedigree Resource File lists 2 entries for a Constantine Martin born in Fermanagh c1795 and there's one in 1881 Ontario census born Ireland c1831.

Hi aghadowey,

I'm not certain about the gender. I've only heard of Constantine as a surname ...
Lord Leary Constantine was a well known member of the West Indian cricket team.

Yes. Constantine Martin a male. The one  I am interested in was b. Ireland 1831, in Enniskillen Fermanagh. At first I thought that the one b. in Milltate in the 1790's was related but now I see no connection.
