We are now into 2007 with six months to go before this event takes place. Will anyone need accommodation or is everyone prepared to organise that end of things themselves?
We'll probably need to pay for speakers unless someone knows one or two people that could give talks at no charge. There will also be room charges as I have my doubts about any speaker being prepared to give a talk to us in a Dublin park although that's an interesting thought.
I am still hoping to increase the numbers .. I posted a message about the event on Y-IRL a Yahoo genealogy group and received a reply from Dr Jane Lyons, of the From Ireland Irish genealogy website. Dr Lyons lives in Dublin and may well be prepared to be one of the speakers. Aoife McGonigal has indicated that she would be prepared to talk about her research at the Annaghmakerrig Estate in Co. Monaghan. I may be able to persuade a couple more speakers.
Christopher - 20th to 22nd is Wed to Friday in my diary - are dates different in Irish republic ?
