« on: Monday 18 December 06 06:58 GMT (UK) »

Hi,

Trying to find Albert Papworth in 1891 census.
He was in the Navy in 1881.
Born about 1861 Hartford, Huntingdon, Eng.

Also his brother William Frederick in 1891
He was born about 1863 Hartford Huntingdon also.

Me again, not working today, both myself and our eldest not feeling the best with a nasty bug, not going too far from the bathroom.

There is an Albert in Bedfordshire who is of the right age :-

1891 Census England Bedfordshire Melchbourne
RG12/1244/47/3
The Village

In the house of James LINE, widowed farm labourer

PAPWORTH
Albert Husband Marr 29 Labourer Hartford Hunts
Harriet Wife Marr 34 Beds Melchbourne
Martha Dau Unmarr 7 mths Beds Melchbourne

The only other name that comes up as being born around this time in Hertford/Hartford/Hereford in Huntingdonshire is a Charles, wife Julia, living in Surrey.

Cheers

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the bug you've got don't pass it on here I"ll make sure I clean my keyboard just in case!!!

Thanks for the lookup. Is he easy to find in 1901 too if not pushing my luck too much.

Leave it for another time if you're not feeling well.
That's cool

Lily, Did you find brother William b 1863 on the 1881 census ?

As there's a BMD death index of William Papworth in March 1873 at Huntingdon RD vol 3b page 180.
He was age 11.

Hi John,

Thanks for that.
Hadn't found him in 1881 that's why. There were a few close but nothing concrete so couldn't rule them out.

Thanks again I'm a bit hooked at the moment can you tell! LOL
