We are researching Quinns in Waterford. They came to Swansea during the 1850. On the 1861 census for Swansea the family are shown as having been born in BROCKNEY, Waterford. We have failed to find any infomation about this place. Have visited the Waterford  FH centre and had a search done with out any luck.We appreciate that the census taker may have had difficulties understanding a broad Irish accent, but can anyone suggest where this place may have been. Any help appreciated.

Could it be Brooklodge or Browley or Burgery instead?

Hello Tom and a Happy New Year.
Thanks for the suggestions. Can you tell me which area we would find these places. You are the only one who has ever given us alternative suggestion for Brockney. We will certainly be following them up.

Brooklodge or Browley or Burgery
Brooklodge is in the parish of Modelligo, Browley is in the parish of Trinity without and Burgery is in the parish of Dungarvan. All of these are in Waterford.
Regards.
