Hi,
Can anyone give an idea when the problem may be resolved???
It just happens that I've hit a mother lode of info that I would love to put on my site... (typical - 2 weeks ago wouldn't have made a difference!!)

Rootschat FTP Manager out of action
« Reply #17 on: Friday 15 December 06 21:25 GMT (UK) »

Is the FTP Manger out of use for all *******/rootschat/net web sites or is the problem mine alone, please?
If it is generally out of action (for last 3 days, at least) when will it be available, please?

Don't suppose anyone would know when this might be resolved by any chance?
Frustrating that I do my first update since September, and the files are stuck on my hard-drive looking pretty.  Think it's telling me to go back to procrastinating...stick to what I'm good at. Cheesy Wink

Hi,

Is there an update or an ETA on a fix for this problem.  As far as I can tell there has been no official response yet and the FTP process has been down for about 5 days now.

Could we nominate Julian as go-between, correspondence supremo, etc. I will have masses of stuff to upload next week. I've been holding it back.

And I have just PM'd him too, Arranroots, and asked if we could have a bulletin about the poorly patient, if a quick fix is not in sight.

Hiya all,

Sorry about the delay - I'm looking into this problem affecting access to the free RootsChat webspace. I can't at the moment predict when it will be fixed, but needless to say I'm hoping to resolve it over the next couple of nights.

I think Dinie's post might hold a clue ie a recent upgrade of Internet Explorer7. Ever since we downloaded the upgrade I have had difficulty connecting to Ancestry through the Family Tree programme. It tells me that either I am not connected to the Internet or my firewall is blocking access. The FT people say that the latest IE upgrade does not work well with FT so maybe it's causing the same sort of problems elsewhere.
