Looking for relatives of george and fanny briggs-nee hill address in 1881 census was kildarroch and george was a farmer. Also looking for relatives of john briggs who married margaret thorburn address in 1881 census was Barrachan croft Mochrum.

The George Briggs and Fanny Hill that you speak of were my great-great grandparents (they came to Galloway from Ireland). My great grandfather was their son, also named George. Was the John that you speak of (the one that married Margaret Thorburn) a younger brother of this second George? Incidentally, George (son of George and Fanny) married Jane Young McGuffie and lived at Barrachan Farm after they were married in 1882. The unmarried Jane Young McGuffie lived at Kildarroch when the census was taken in 1881. (Barrachan Farm has a hamlet of cottages where the farm workers and some relatives lived; this was known as Barrachan Village.)
