I am looking for the occupants of 13 Alice St, poss under West Ham, I have a marriage cert dated 1902 for
Charles Henry Mitchell, (father George William)
to

Hi Louisa,
From the marriage certificate, can you tell us Charles Henry Mitchell's date and place of birth? If we can pin him down in 1901, 1891 or 1881 then you may find the rest of the family.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Charles Henry Mitchell's address on the cert dated 1902 is
13 Alice St in the area of West Ham. His wife Elizabeth Frances Legg's address was 29 Cleaver Road I presume in the same area
All I know about Charles Henry Mitchell is what is on his marriage cert, aged 28, he was a mariner as was his father George William Mitchell, I do wonder as mariners if they spent a long time away and therefore missed the census.
There is only on Geo Mitchell with a wife Mrs Geo Mitchell on a census on a vessel, these could be his parents, other than the info above I am at a loss, unless someone else knows better.
Normally I know how to go about the search but there seems to be nothing at all.
Ah well, he won't evade me for long, I will get him eventually.

Who were the witnesses to the 1902 marriage and what did Charles and Elizabeth name any subsequent children.
They often are very helpful in giving us clues to grandparents names or aunts and uncles.

At 21 Alice Street in 1901 is 34 year old George W Mitchell and his wife Rose A age 30 
I wonder if he might just be an older brother of your Charles and named after dad.
I'll see if I can find them any farther back.
