Thanks for looking Debbi.

At least I have the name of Rebecca's father and forename of her mother (Mary).  Finding all Rebecca's siblings would be useful - it gives a bigger picture and could help going further back.

To recap, so far it seems that her father John Williams was born in Little Torrington around 1780.

As to her mother Mary, I have little to go on. She was likely around the same age as her husband and from the general area. I would love to find out her surname, especially since I am trying to follow my direct line back through the women. In 1851 she wasn't at Frithelstock with her husband (marked Married not Widowed). There is a married Mary Williams in the household of a Judith Cock (W) at Calf st. GT in 1851 and is marked as being her niece. This may or may not be her.

It appears Rebecca was born late in 1812 . She seems to have had a brother John born in 1811 . She had a brother Roger born around 1825 and a sister Mary born around 1828.  All were born in Great Torrington. Rebecca also had a nephew William H. Williams b. around 1850 GT (1851 census) , parents unknown at this point.

I wonder if there is a conncetion John Williams b. around 1819. In the 1861 GT census, there is a William H (son) with the family of the above John Williams

I am wondering about possibilities of a connection to James Williams b around 1816 GT and if he married Elizabeth Harding, if she is the sister of John Harding, Rebecca's second husband. James and Elizabeth Williams were living next to John and Mary in 1841, Frithelstock.

Rebecca's first husband was perhaps John Lyne who died in 1839. THeir son John Lyne was born in 1833 in GT.

I am quite sure Rebecca Harding ( nee Williams) died at Plymouth in 1897 - I still need to send away for the death certificate.

So it's filling out slowly but surely.

Thanks again so much all for doing those look ups
