Could sks do a lookup for me, please.
I am seeking the death of Joseph Emery, born 1873, Dudley/Longbenton area.
I have trawled the BDM's from 1914 to 1929 without locating him. His wife and one son sailed to Australia in December, 1929.

Hi Debbie,
Your reply enticed me to look outside the square, and I have located a an entry in 2nd Qrts of 1912, right age and area.
I posted an earlier reply to you, but it didn't appear to have been sent. May have been a glitch with my computer.

Hi There,
I have Joseph's siblings and parents. I see from your surname interests the name Lumsden.
A Robert James Emery, brn Dudley circa 1864 possibly married a Mary Ann Lumsden, which I have not confirmed.
On the 1901 census RG 13/4807 fol 120 Page 8 there is a Robert Emery a widower born Dudley. He is described as head of the household. Residing with him are his father and mother in law, John and Elizabeth Lumsden.
If there is a link will gladley pass on the info I have.

Hi
I am not sure; it may be there's a link further back but I've not been able to prove one yet! One of my gg grandmothers was an Isabella Emery born about 1823 and another was a Mary Lumsden born about 1831

Hi Anne,
Joseph Emery was my grandfather. His father was James Emery born Felton, circa 1828/30. A brother Charles also born Felton circ 1827.
The father of James Emery was (from James's marriage certificate) a Charles Emery, a shoemaker by occupation.
Charles was possibly born 1791, at Felton, but not confirmed.
Charles had a brother, James, born 1797 and Sister Jane born 1796.
