I have David Forrest born circa. 1824 Linlithgow, Scotland.

Married Margaret SMITH

Both migrated to Australia aboard the Shackamaxon with three children.

Elizabeth, Jane, Alexander

I am guessing that the marriage and childrens births took place in scotland??

There is a possible submitted entry for their marriage on IGI:

DAVID FORREST  Marriage: 26 MAR 1848 Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland

The birth entries are all actual extracts from the OPRs:

1. ALEXANDER FORREST  Birth: 28 MAY 1852 Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland
2. ELIZABETH FOREST Birth: 28 JUN 1850 Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland
3. JANET FOREST Birth: 23 DEC 1848 Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland

Father David's full name is showing as DAVID LEIGHTON FORREST

Hi there,
I was just searching old posts for the name Forrest and came across this one.
Co-incidentally I have been looking at what I think is part of this very family hoping to link it to my direct line.
I even posted some photographs of them on RC this week trying to date them.
I've got details of part of the family from the 1851 / 1861 and 1871 census records, the photos and more importantly perhaps to you, the contact details for two living relatives that I have been in touch with.
If you'd like to send me a PM with your contact details, I can pass them on to the others.
I'll also copy you in on the info I've got.
I've still not linked this family to my line but we're in the same sort of area - Dunbartonshire, Stirlingshire, Linlithgowshire (now West Lothian).
