Hi all, Was wondering if someone could look up some people for me in Upchurch please.
1) Marriage for William Wildish and Sophia ?? 1800-1805 I think ...and any children for them up to about 1810.
2) Baptism for Emma Wildish to John and Sarah, end of 1839.
3)Marriage for James Wildish and Mary ?? They had 4 children that I know of there and Mary was born there too. The children were Henry c1834, James c1838, Walter c1840 and Mary Ann c1846 so I am guessing their marriage to be 1830-1834 . None of their children appear in the bmd indexes. Could I get the baptisms for the kids too please
Thank you Adrianne

Hi Adrianne No record of a marriage for William and Sophia in Upchurch, but there is a record of a child - Eliza baptised 20-12-1807.
Emma Wildish - d/o John & Sarah - baptised 30-11-1839
No record of marriage for James & Mary
Children's baptisms:
Henry 25-5-1834 buried 16-10-1847 (13y 6m) James Thomas 9-7-1837 Walter 17-11-1839 Mary Ann 1-2-1846 Edward 3-10-1841 buried 8-9-1842 (1y) Thomas 18-2-1844 buried 16-10-1847 (3yr 9m)
Henry and Thomas were both buried on the same day - really sad.
I also found: Marriage 1-3-1892 Emma Wildish (23) sp otp d/o Henry Wildish (decd Labourer) to Alfred Hannington (25) Gardener of Penrath s/o James Hannington (labourer)
I hope this helps - there are quite a few other Wildish details listed so if you need me to check for anymore, please let me know.

Thank you Anne-Marie!
That's great! Pity about William and Sophia, I was really hoping.
The marriage you found for Emma isn't mine that I know of. I do have an Emma d/o Henry but she would have been 35, which would be pushing it just a little
Thanks for your help! I'll let you know if I find anyone else in Upchurch

Hi Adrianne,
These dates don't quite tally, but may be relevant.
Upchurch Marriage Banns. 1777 June 23, 30 and July 7, William Wildish otp and Sophia Nicholls otp
Upchurch marriages. 1804 30th August, William Wildish otp and Sophia Nicholls otp by banns, witnesses John Downs and John Sneller
Couldn't help with any of the other queries I'm afraid, Carol.

Thankyou Carol
That's great!!! I'm not sure what to do about the dates Can you tell me where you found this info? I was wondering whether it was already transcribed or if you got it from an image/original? Sometimes they jumped around in their parish books
Very appreciated
Regards Adrianne

Hi Adrianne, It was a transcription, which is why I'm a bit dubious about the dates, but it may give you a lead. Maybe someone who has access to the original registers could check the dates for you. Regards, Carol.

Hi Carol
I was hoping they were transciptions, otherwise...
One last question, were they from non-conformist registers or similar? It seemed like they weren't with the usual registers It will help to know where to look
Thankyou for all your time
Adrianne

Hi Adrianne
Are you still looking for the marriage of James WILDISH to Mary early 1830s? I only ask because there is a marriage James WILDISH to Mary BACHELOR at Gillingham 12 Oct 1832 http://www.rootschat.com/links/03cq/

Hi Casalguidi,
Thanks for giving me that link It's very thoughtful of you!
Currently, my data suggests that Mary's surname was Hollands, but as I have nothing concrete I'm pleased to have another option
Thankyou Adrianne

Hi Adrianne
I notice that the marriage in Gillingham was witnessed by a Hannah HOLLANDS - coincidence or proof
Perhaps you could find something else that may bear the signature of your James to compare.
