Panto was great.  Grin  Grin  Grin

Bradley Walsh was stuck on the motorway so instead of starting at 1.00 it didn't
begin until 1.45. It was worth every penny of the £24.

It meant though that I could not get back in time to look up the entries today but
hopefully will look sometime tomorrow.

the Index has the following
Stephen Whitting otp to Martha Ekins of Brixworth 25th Jul 1757 Pitsford

This Martha married John Markie and i have the marriage etc and should be as follows
Stephen Witsey otp to Martha Ekins of Brixworth 25th Jul 1757 Pitsford

You are nearly correct about the Pitsford marriage.

It states Stephen Whitsey to Martha Ekins (although can not see Martha being of Brixworth? Sad).

Therefore it is a correction for the index on Stephen's surname for sure

Alan has previously told me that he is always glad of any corrections.

The only baptism/burial for a Gibson in 1780/2 was

James son of Val and Mary Gibson June 1st 1782

James son of Val and Mary Gibson June 5th 1782

Therefore I do not know who had a John?

Will look later.

I can not confirm a John being baptised in the time period you say.

At the time only Val and Mary are having children in the P.C. as a daughter is baptised in 1786.

As I am looking at the original images and not the source you mentioned I have re-looked and can not find any child named John.

If you want me to look from Val's marriage in 1774 to the child 1st noted let me know.

I have just arrived back home, from a wind swept Northampton ! to even more wind swept Dover !

Yet  again i had a look at the parish records and to be honest got even more confused !
I copied it down to try and make sense of it.

But i have just re looked at the census
1841 John Gibson aged 50 with wife elizabeth
1851 John Gibson aged 70 Widow !
1861 John Gibson is a widow aged 80

Parish records shows a John Gibson Bap 8th Feb 1791 which would fit with the 1841 census, what does not make sense is why add 10 years to your age ! so me thinks that the 1841 census is correct and the others not
wot says you !

1851  HO 107 / 1743 pg 6 Folio 641
1861 RG 9/ 954 pg 7 Folio 91

All Great Doddington.

Intresting point on the 1851 Census which also fooled me as there is a Benjamin Gibson Son of John there, LOL
yes he is son of John but not this John ! as he is son of John and Sarah Gibson.
Boy o Boy ! me thinks john tells plenty of porky pies ! LOL

Oh yes Dad has made a very good recovery and all is well. he just needs to take it easy, he broke all hospital records in coming out with in 5 days after having 17 inches of his bowel removed !

Given her a date on Alan Clarke's index for him so she can look at the original as I
have a copy which she could have had although she has said that she has now ordered it.
