Hi
Was wondering if anybody would mind doing a lookup for me in the 1881 census
looking for ther family of Helen ROSS born 1876 i know she married in Forfar so belive she came from the area. Her parents were David ROSS and Helen (nee McGregor).
Any help would be appricated.

Do you want a check on David Ross or the children of David and Helen (could possible get this via IGI). It's just that there are 39 David Ross in Angus and I'd like to help but don't know where or what his age is

What i should have really asked for was the 1881 census as if helen was on it it give her parents age and where they born.

This is a bit difficult 
there are 3 Helen Ross born Forfar (none Angus) on the 1881 but none have the parents that you say

This is only a possibility - do you have her marriage certificate to confirm her father's possible occupation?

James Ross son 3 Dunfermline, Fife
David Ross son 2 b Dunfermline, Fife
Alexander Ross son 3 m b Dunfermline, Fife
This is possibly David Ross and Helen Ramage - they married in 1873 in Dunfermline.
There is a Helen Ross aged 4 born in Aberdeen living with her widowed grandmother Helen Ross in Aberdeen. No parents with her. However, on further investigation, Helen Ross senior is probably the widow of a William Ross.
The IGI does not show Helen's birth and a check of children with the parents David Ross and Helen McGregor does come up with a Helen - born in 1863 in Banff. However, if she was born in 1876, I would not expect it to be included.
I think you need to view the birth certificate.
