Is it possible to check a death record?
« on: Thursday 18 November 04 17:52 GMT (UK) »

Hi,

I'm looking for the death record of a Beatrice Carlyon.  She arrived in the US in 1905 aged 2.  By 1910 she had died.

She was originally born in Cornwall, UK.  Parents John William and Beatrice Carlyon (nee Fox) also originated from Cornwall.  John William was an oil worker, Bakersfield, CAL.

I'd be grateful for any help on this.

Information on the date of her death.
Specific information whereby I could order a certificate to find out why she died.

Many thanks

Hi KA

This site will provide you with lots of California deaths including 1905 onward.

It takes just a minute to register, and they email you a temporary password immediately.

I saw several CARLYON names, no Beatrice, but it may be of assistance to you with other family members.  'Tis a little blurry to my old eyes.

Valerie,

Thanks for that.  As you say, a little blurry!

Also, as you pointed out, no Beatrice.  I'm left with the possibility that Beatrice may have died between arriving at Ellis Island and reaching California.  They arrived US 14 October, and she was dead by 1910.

I think I need to find out what States she may have passed through on her journey to California.  Time for the map!

Thanks
