Would love to hear from anyone doing family research on my family Alexander Rankin born 22 Oct 1827 Kirkintilloch & wife Margaret Comrie born abt 1830 ?
Have the following:
Robert, Margaret, Peter, Alexander, Christina, Alexandra, Christina, William, Daniel, Jane, Walter.
Have all the birth dates except Walter as abt 1877. Cheesy

My G/mother was a Murison from Edinburgh her sister married an Anderson.

Shirley, Can you tell me where you found the 1881 Kilsyth census from so quickly?
Is it on line?
I can get to some of the other Stirlingshire area's through Tom Patterson on line.

Hi i have it on disc so happy to help. You can access it on www.familysearch,org and go to "census", but on the disc you can do a more comprehensive search.

Unfortunately, the LDS familySearch site's 1881 Census is only for the English Census and not Scotland. At present, apart from the CDrom that you have Shirley, the only other main on-line source is the index on Scotlands People, a pay to view site, at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
