I have been looking for a Nancarrow link for ten years so do hope you can help me. In 1858 My great, great grandmother,Catherine Chambers,a widow ,married Edward Nancarrow ,a sinker, aged 23 at Dowlais,Merthyr. He gave his father`s name as John Nancarrow ,also a sinker. One of the witnesses was William Nancarrow the other Catherine Williams. In Dec 1858 ,Catherine gave birth to a son Edward. There is no evidence of William or Edward Snr on the 1861 Merthyr Census,Catherine and her son Edward are living with her father,John Jones, and Catherine has reverted to her former name of Chambers. I cannot trace Edward Jr after 1871. Any info or suggestions warmly recieved, Carrie Ann

Checked the 1861 .Looks like William and Edward came here for work. The other Nancarrows in 1861 in Wales seem to come from Cornwall. Checked the 1851 for an Edward Nancarrow Father John left birthplace blank and this came up its something to keep on file anyway and theres a brother William.

Looks like Edward moved around while working as a sinker in the mines. So assume he could have died outside Wales .There is a death of an Edward Nancarrow in Qtr April 1859 in Liskeard Cornwall. But no way of finding out if its your one. Best Wishes Welsh Lady

Hi Carrie Ann
Just letting you know that I'm also researching Nancarrows. Mine are from Newlyn East in Cornwall, and prior to that they seem to have been in St Keverne. They never made it to Wales as far as I know, but they did come out to Aus.
If you'd like any info, just let me know
