I've hit a brick wall in trying to find the marriage of Archibald Strang and Jean Finlay, which took place (I guess) some time before 1804, and in Cumbernauld. They had a daughter in 1804, and at least 6 others, the last (Agnes) in 1825, all in Cumbernauld (on IGI).
I searched SP from 1790-1825 for a marriage, in Cumbernauld, then in all districts, no luck. Maybe they didn't get married at all? They are buried in C'nauld.
I don't have death certificates; SP's list of OPRs for Cumbernauld says they only have death records for 1798-1800, and I know they were alive after this. Their names are on a tombstone in C'nauld parish churchyard; the date is 1815. They seem to have had children every couple of years (1804, 1806, 1809, 1812, 1817, 1819, 1825). There's a gap between 1812-1817 which makes me wonder if they had a child who died very young, and the monument was erected at that time.
Any help in tracking down the marriage or other info on this elusive pair appreciated, thanks!

Tried a search for the marriage of this couple but like you nothing on any marriage, however I did find another birth:-
ANNE STRANG
Birth: 04 AUG 1822
Christening: 01 SEP 1822 Cumbernauld, Dunbarton, Scotland
Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help!!!
