Emily's maiden name was Richards .....
the page before starts with the Cottrill family 70 Rockfield Road
Then there's all these seemingly seperate families .... so how could Robert be a classed as a Grandson ..... ?? or am I being obtuse ??
I still can't believe you got that Julia !!

Well .... I've been through the births between 1921 - 1928 and can't find any with the mothers maiden name of Grant !! the only one that is a possibility is with the maiden name of Stead in 1926 !! ( I only say possibility ..... as one of mine had the same name because the father - when asked for mother's name - gave his own mother !! )
I wish somebody was a member of Liverpool Genealogy and could look up the member who's researching Stead
Otherwise .... I'm stuck !!
Thanks Doreen for your input and for looking !!

Peeking into the past

I looked for more info on sister Norah - can't see a marriage for a Nora Stead in Liverpool from 1912 - 18.
The only birth I can find is for a Nora May Stead recorded in West Derby in 1893, but the 1901 census leads me to think it's not her & I can't find one in 1894 in Liverpool
Otherwise .... I'm stuck !! Don't you dare Girlfriend - What about an obit in the local paper if he did die 1930 it would mention something wouldn't it

but if we haven't fathomed this out in the next few days .... I will !!
Now I have to look for that obit !!

Blimey and I was in Southport yesterday!! I take a day off and just look what I miss!! If you decide you want Doreen's find contacted, let me know the name and I'll give them a call.
So yes it would seem that the marriage which Carole found is likely to be the right one, but doesn't seem to have lasted, which is a shame.
I still think your best bet is a message on the icliverpool (Liverpool Echo) for any descendants. An obit is fairly unlikely to bring results, us Brits don't seem to eulogise in the same way as our American cousins and give all family history in the paper when somebody dies, usually it's just the time of the funeral and a bible quote. No harm in checking of course, but the Echo won't do the work for you, it'll have to be a visit to the Record Office to check the film, if anybody's going.
I wonder if Elizabeth remarried .... but that's a lot of years to work through.
Freddiebean, just wanted to mention that your Avatar has got the copyright info under it, that covers you for that, so to avoid having any of your look ups deleted just make sure you type up entries, so that they are your own transcription, and don't copy and paste, that's the no-no. The references are always helpful, so do as you did and include them too.
