That is a problem, Shaun, her Crease cousins could be anywhere other then on the Wirral.
Perhaps it would be a good thing if anybody has Ancestry they could find the person in the Stead family who married a Crease but then they may be on her mother's side.
I do think it is necessary to investigate the family of Robert now that the information about his wife Elizabeth has been found.

Norah's aunt Alice Richards married Miller Crease. They had 3 children that we know of, Alice 1901, Emily 1902 and Robert Miller Crease 1907 (d. 1984).
Shaun, without reading all this thread , were the Crease family in the Liverpool district?

See Reply number 355, where MaryA reports on the conversation she had with Robert Crease's widow.
Thank you Shaun, I was on page 3 when you mailed. It has saved a lot of time. Will read what is said.

Shaun
After eading the preceeding pages to post 355 I think I agree that as much as possible has been done to trace relaives of Robert Wm. Stead. I do not want to sound defeatist but if Robert Crease's widow could not help it makes one wonder who could.

Good afternoon all.
Can I just check with those who have been following this very closely. please?
We know that Robert's father was a William Stead who m Emily Richards. She married a Mr Crease, She is being followed up I believe. We are therefore looking for a cousin of Robert to whom the wrist tag could be passed on.
Are there any other sisters or brothers of Emily who ought to be worked on?.
If we are following up on Robert's aunts and uncles on his mother's side, ought we not to do the same on his father's side? I've been doing some digging but wanted to know how much had already been done?

quote Dear Edna Thank you for your email regarding Robert William Stead. I am still looking through the records that we hold, at the moment I have drawn a blank. I will try and included this search in our next Newsletter which will be published in December in the hope that our members may have some info. I have to admit that I have not had time to read all 44 pages of the thread! if you are able to summarise the search for me it would be a great help. Regards Bob Steed (Stead-Steed ONS) ----- Original Message -----
This is the reply from Bob Stead (mentioned by me on page forty) at the one name study of Stead-Steed shall I send a summary of what the thread is about or would anyone else like to reply to Bob.

Hi Everybody !
OK ! lets all just stop for a minute and take a breath !!
The people who have been with this thread from the beginning ... pretty much know ( in general ) where to look for information
The new people to the thread - have too much to read - therefore are asking questions about things that have already been addressed and we're using up valuable space by going over the same things !
The "powers that be " ( whoever they are ) will be complaining in the very near future !
So ... if you wouldn't mind just holding on .... till we can get this summary thing up to date .... so then we're all on the same page ..... I'd really appreciate it !
I don't want you guys going off " the boil " ... because this is a pretty REMARKABLE thread but if you can hang onto your hat just a little bit longer .... we'll get this thing up and running again !!
Thanks you guys !
Annie
PS Shaun ..... his service papers !!
Well for something completely different ..... I found out that before WW1 our Robert worked at Parrs Bank Ltd Market branch Liverpool and was bonded ......... it that too far back to pursue ?? In 1913, the bank formed a subsidiary, London County and Westminster Bank (Paris), which opened branches during and after World War I in Bordeaux, Lyons, Marseilles, Nantes, Brussels, and Antwerp. The bank itself also established offices in Barcelona and Madrid during the same time. In 1917, bank officials decided to acquire the Ulster Bank (which continued to operate separately), with 170 branches throughout Ireland, and in 1918 bought Parr's Bank, with over 320 offices throughout England. These purchases made London, County, Westminster & Parrs (which became simply Westminster Bank Ltd. in 1923)the fifth-largest bank in England. http://www.answers.com/topic/national-westminster-bank-plc
