Wise words from Annie.

As an interim solution I can offer (with Annie's approval) access to the Stead family data that was brought together from this thread by MaryA, who did some wonderful work on the project in the early days.  I can make this data available to interested researchers but you'll need the URL and the password. PM me if you are interested.

At present the data is as it was around 6 months ago but I will be updating for newer information over the next few days.

Hi everybody  - you have been ( and are ) all terrific !

As has been said - this topic is getting so large it has become unmanageable ! and I've been wracking my brain ( and other peoples ! ) to think of ways to make it easier ... and I'm hoping this will work ..... ( if not ... we'll try something else !! )

We also have  to continue to be aware that although the people being researched  on this topic are all deceased and were born over 100 years ago  we must be careful about getting to close to identifying living persons who may not wish to be identified and of identifying private residences of people who have no connection to the people in this topic.   In our eagerness to solve the mystery, we just may have on accasion come too close to the boundaries here.  We  have no wish to upset anyone in this, our Quest - which is when all is said and done, is intended to Honour a WW1 veteran who was born in 1896

Please see the continuation topic here

I hope you will all continue to help solve the mystery of " The Tag " and my Friend's deep desire to reunite it with the family
Anyone who has new informnation - ( completely new ) - or as the result of enquiries you have made and  told us about ..... please don't be put off -  please PM me as we will also try and co-ordinate a summary of  lines of enquiry made and to be made ............ !!
