Is there SKS who has the McKirdy Index and could check for the death of Euphemia Burton in 1868 in Alloa please. I'm hoping this Euphemia was born 1815, the daughter of Martin Burton and Margaret Murray. I don't know if she married or not.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the info - yes, that's the family. I haven't worked out who Mancy is yet :-) Margaret was a widow when she died in 1859. Her marriage in the IGI has her husband's name as HALLIBURTON. I haven't been able to find them in 1851.
It's Euphemia's death I'm looking for. In 1861 she is living with her niece as Euphemia ARD. In 1881 an Euphemia HERD was a witness at her great niece's wedding. I was hoping the McKirdy index would give me her husband's name.

The "McKirdy Index" Death Records - an "Analytical Index to the Statutory Registers of Death for Scotland"
Hope that helps, it is not a McKirdy family index.

Good morning,
The McKirdy index - I belong to the website, but I cannot do 'look-ups' for others.
This site was set up a couple of years ago by Wayne McKirdy of New Zealand. He is indexing the info from Death certificates. The index contains the main info - except for the Death Date. actual address, Cause of Death & the Rego date.
So far, he has indexed:
Bute 1855 - 1875
Clackmannan 1855 - 1875
Kinross 1855 - 1875
Lanark 1855 - 1858
Peebles 1855 - 1875
Perth 1855 - 1857
Selkirk 1855 - 1875
Sutherland 1855 - 1875

I have no personal involvement with the index, just a user from way back.

Yes, the death of Euphemia Burton is shown on my index. It also has her parents, husband's name, and the name of a niece.
