I am researching my family!!!! My grandfather was William Charles Summerfield, he was born in Plymouth December 1891. He married a lady called Sarah but I don't know when, I think her maiden name was Jefferies but I know she had been married before she married my Grandfather.
I know she had 2 children in her first marriage who I believe were called Alice and Winifred. My grandfather and Sarah had I believe 5 children William, Jim, Sid, Peggy and Pat.
I have been told my Grandfather was in the Navy during WW1 and that he ended up as skipper of a tug in Devonport Dockyard. He died in September 1947.
I would be grateful of any help.

Hi - the 1901 census shows the following family living at Southside Street, Plymouth. Ref RG13/2101
George Summerfield, head, m, 43, labourer general, born Wolverhampton.
Alice Summerfield, wife, m, 31, charwoman, born Plymouth,
Mary Summerfield, dau, s, 12, born Plymouth,
Clara Summerfield, dau, s, 6, born Plymouth,
William Summerfield, son, s, 10, born Plymouth,
Alice Summerfield, dau, s, 3, born Plymouth.
This was the only William Summerfield born in Plymouth that I found in 1901.

Hi, me again! Had a quick look in the 1891 census and found the following in Ordnance Row, Stoke Damerel, Devonport, Devon.
George Summerford (original document looks more like Summerfield but it has been transcribed as Summerford!), m, 30, mason's labourer, born Staffordshire,
Alice Summerford, m, wife, 22, born in Plymouth,
Mary A Summerford, dau, 2, born in Plymouth.
