Dear Members,
Can anyone please assist me in finding the Birth Record of -
John Howden HELEY
John emigrated to Australia before 1885, where he married Mary Matilda GREENSILL.
Any snippet on John or his family will be greatly appreciated.
With sincere thanks
Bruce EDMONDS Brisbane

Hello Bruce
Any info on his parents on the marriage record? Why Buckinghamshire?
Do you have him on any census or shipping record?
kind regards, Arranroots

Hello ARANROOTS,
Many thanks for your prompt response and for your interest in my cause.
John Howden HELEY married Mary Matilda GREENSILL. This was in Australia in 1886. I am still seeking that record. It takes a while to pick up in Queensland! Many complaints!
I posted on the BKM page because there were many HELEYs appearing around IVINGHOE.
Thank you for your interest

I am sure you have already tried freebmd , but there is no record for a JHH.
Neither does a search for JHH in census indices produce a match.
I think you are going to need more to go on - there are too many John HELEY and you would struggle to prove which is yours.
Do you have him on any other record? At least an age would help. What about his age at death. Have you already posted in Emigrants to Australia, where folk might be able to help with shipping records?
Don't forget to update your other posts if/ when you get more info.

Hello again Arranroots,
I have checked Australian records without success. So I decided to try the 'scatter-gun' approach from UK Census hotpoints. Obviously, no success there.
There is always the possibility that he came through America as some of my EDMONDS/GREAVES relies did.
Family information no longer exists. Will keep searching ....
Regards

Thanks for that Kaoota.
I had researched DEELEY, but not the EELEY.
But, no luck as yet.
