Leeroy you are more than welcome!  Smiley

Unfortunately I'm drawing a blank so far with the IGI?

This looks like the birth for Frederick:

Birth, Mar. qtr. 1854

Frederick Heming

I wouldn't be surprised by your last comment at all - they appear to have been a fairly prosperous family!

Financially I imagine it would have been a huge loss with the death of Joseph Heming at such a young age  .. ..  poor Sarah having all that responsibility at approx 37 years old.

I'll keep digging for you - everyone on Rootschat are so very helpful, I'm sure if they can help, they will!!  Smiley Smiley

   Morning Leeroy ..Hi Pels....

How does this look...

Robert Heming married Sarah Ann Yates  Tenbury Q4 1880  6c 375

In 1865 the mayor of Birmingham was EDWIN YATES .

Could that be the connection?

Hi Tazzie

I think I remember coming accross the marrige about 12months ago. I am pretty sure robert was married in 1880 and given the fact they name their son Robert Yates would indicate a strong connection

good work Smiley Wink

I must admit Leeroy I am struggling to find the exact connection on Ancestry - but there are similarites too, which are confusing the issue?

Let us know the details of her birth record - that would be a great help!

Hi All....Pels my you have changed!

 Right lets do the basics...

Robert Heming marries Sarah Ann Yates according to GRO
Robert Heming marries Sarah Jane Yates according to IGI (extracted)

GRO date is Q4 1880 Tenbury
IGI date is 27 Dec 1880 Lindridge Worc
                 groom age 25
                  bride age 23
                  grooms father Joseph

IGI has Sarah Jane Yates bap Yarpole 15 Nov 1857 (extracted)
                                         father William
                                         mother Amelia.
Yarpole should be Leominster district but the Sarah Jane Yates listed for birth is in Clifton which is Gloucs.
So Yarpole ties in with Sarah the marriage ties into Robert....I think the error is in the GRO as it gives Ann.
However as Pels has found the Initial changes each census .

The 1871 is the first one I came to - in fact it's the only definite so far.
William - father has been written as William Yeates, on the following page the surname of the children is Yates!!  Wink

RG10/2710, folio 15, page 4

Herefordshire, Avenbury

Heath Farm

William Yeates, h. widwr. 47, Farmer 198 acres. employing 2 labourers, b.  Hereford, Kimbolton
William Yates, son, unm. 26, Saddler, b. Hereford, Yarpole
Charles, unm. 24, Farmers son, b. Hereford
Henry J. son, unm. 22, Farmers son, b. Hereford
Amelia L. dau. unm. 19, Housemaid
Caroline, dau. unm. 16, Dairymaid, b. Hereford, Yarpole
Sarah Jane, dau. 13, Scholar, b. Hereford, Yarpole
Thomas, son, 11, Scholar, b. Hereford, Eye
Arthur, son, 10
George, son, 8
William Lane, serv. unm. 15, Farm Servant

This is the same Sarah J. Tazzie found, note name of daughter - Amelia.  Smiley

   Hi Pels....

Yes naming pattern here I believe?  Father William mother Amelia as in first son William first daughter Amelia.

There is a William bap 28 Jan 1824 Kimbolton Herefordshire father William mother Elizabeth (extracted).
Marriage of parents...William Yates to Elizabeth Davenport 6 May 1819.
