I found this christening, not sure if it might help in census records?

  • ANDREW MOAR
Christening: 09 MAY 1819 Fetlar, Shetland, Scotland
Parents: JAMES MOAR & MARGT. SPENCE

Someone's submitted also:

  • ANDREW MOAR:
Christening: 09 MAY 1819 North Yell, Shetland, Scotland
Parents: JAMES MOAR & MARGT. SPENCE

Just going by the 1851 birthplaces.  Smiley

Hmmm - just saw your post hume - I've scored out the Andrew snr & CAtherine entries as I don't think they are our Andrew's parents-- but if itturns out they are connected then Andrew died post 1861.

Other Moar data here...

In 1841 there is an Andrew Moar born in 1820 in Scotland living in Westminister, Middlesex.
But he's a baker.  Living with other bakers at Galston Road.  CAn't seem to follow him through to 1851?
