The elusive Amy Bowen

Can anyone help? In 1901, Thomas Morgan was landlord of the Victoria Inn, 28 Barton st Gloucester.
I was passing through the area (unable to stop due to sleeping children) and was able to drive along the street, but found no numbers as low as 28, they were all in the hundreds. Does that mean that the street has changed it's name - or at least part of the street, or has the numbering changed?
Does anyone know where this pub was/is? (I presume it has gone or changed names now.) I would love to know a little more about it. Thanks

I've just found the following on the pub you are interested in:
http://www.gloucestershirepubs.co.uk/publist/gloucesterpubs2.htm
Victoria House, Barton Street (One Eyed Jacks)
28 Lower Barton Street in 1885 Kellys directory. The address later changed to 136 Barton Street. In 1957 it was referred to simply as the Victoria. It changed its name to 'Molly Malone's' and when that concept became time expired it was renamed again to One Eyed Jacks. The pub is now a free house. A West Country Ales ceramic plaque remains in situ by the front door.
1856,1859,1885 John Mann 1902 Thomas Morgan 1906 John Ellis Jones 1919 George Hopcraft 1927 James Jones 1936,1939,1957 Hedley J. Walding 1998 Dave O'Brien 1999 Alberto Gil
I had a look to see if the site had an old picture of the pub, but that particular one was not featured.
...... Just out of interest, were you Morgans from just Herefordshire and Gloucestershire?

Rebecca Thanks alot for the info - it's lovely that there's a plaque. Yes, all my Morgans were from Hereford, although one, Joseph went to Pontypridd and obviously Thomas who went to gloucester via Marylebone (and I wonder where else!) I take it you have Morgan interests, where from?

Hi,
I first found my Morgans in Ledbury, Herefordshire, then in Castlemorton, Worcestershire and I think I've just traced them back to Aberdare, Glamorgan!

My Morgans come from Much Cowarne (not that I can find a birth for Charles there despite him saying this on every census) and central Hereford itself, one of the girls, Sarah Jane( gt gt grandmother) then married a Bowen and they went to Kington (where he came from), and by 1901 Leominster. No one in hereford seems to have any links to them!!!
I'm thrilled to have found other people with Hereford interests - it all seems a bit quiet on that front.
