Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to locate a particular address on the 1861 or 1871 census on Ancestry? And if so how?
I recieved a birth certificate today for James Alfred Somerville Willer, born Oct 1864. There was no father on his birth cert.
His mother, Clara Willer, appears on the 61 and 71 living in North Walsham, Norfolk. However James was born at Heigham, Norwich.
I was wondering where the names Alfred and Somerville came from....possibly the missing father? There are NO Alfred Somervilles living in North Walsham or Heigham in 61 or 71.
However there is another Somerville family living in Heigham.
I was wondering if it was possible to find out who lived in the 'Cow and Hare Yard' (where Clara was living at the time of her son's birth) to see if that yielded any clues as to where the Alfred and Somerville names come from.
So basically I wondered if Alfred/Somerville were not linked with the missing father could they be linked to whoever Clara was staying with when her baby was born?
I am presuming that Clara was sent to Heigham to have James as he was illigitimate and illigitimacy was frowned upon, or was she working over there?
Any ideas??
