Harriet RAY
« on: Friday 20 April 07 19:35 BST (UK) »

Harriet is my 3x great grandmother, born in Hertfordshire (cousins on genesreunited say its something like "Sleehide?") c1845. She married Shadrach Maynard in St Albans in October 1863.

I've been unable to find out anything about where she was born or who her parents were. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's a street or a neighourhood ... doesn't say street anyway  Tongue

In 1861, Harriett is a servant at St Alban. Mother Sarah is widowed (address is now Sleaps Hyde), Straw Plait Maker, living with daughters Sarah, Mary Ann and a 1 year old grandson Levi

   Hi Tati Wink

I think it is an area in St Albans. There is still a Sleapshyde Lane ,In Smallford area of St Albans.
