We may be able to help if you tell us what you are looking for - Who - When - Where. [It is considered to be rather shouting if you type all in capitals - you will have our attention without that]. Let us see what we can do to help. Next posting is up to you.

Sorry about the capitals I wont do it again
I am looking For a John Crooks Born London (Bethnall Green)? around 1812/1816 died December Quarter 1849 Vol 20 Page 562 he was married to a Elizabeth Born Norfolk Kingsland I found her and her children in the 1851 & 1861 census RG9/257 page 58 (1861 cenus). What I am trying to find out is when John Crooks was born when he married (maybe around 1833/1837) and Elizabeths maiden name. Any help would be appreciated

Oh dear! I have a problem with this. I can find Kingsland in Ireland, in Essex and in Herefordshire but no Kingsland in Norfolk. This is not, by any chance, Kings Lynn?

Have you tried the LDS. That's what most people have told me to do, as they have many of the pre 1837 records from the parishes and such. Other than that, I'm not sure. I'm in the same boat with one side of my family.

The information I have came from the 1851 census which someone looked up for me and it says Kingsland the information I supplied to them was HO107/1539 folio 488. I have found a marriage in 1837 Sept Qtr vol 20 page 511 between a John Crooks and Elizabeth Leonard but I am not sure if this is them as there are a lot of John Crooks and a lot of Elizabeths.
Is there anyway we can trace Elizabeth Leonard to see if she was born in Norfolk?
Many thanks Denise

LDS-Latter Day Saints aka Mormon. they have a free research website with many files online. FamilySearch.org. the reference made in an earlier message was to the IGI-International Genealogical Index. it has all the Church of England records that churchs in England would allow them to have-if you know your people were C of E and you can't find them, write to the parish church, they may have refused microfilming of the records (or even refused to give them over to the Record Office in 1847). unfortunately, non-conformist records are few and far between in the IGI. you'll have to search more diligently for them. some records were filmed but not put into the IGI. check the Family History Library index (also available at FamilySearch.org) and see if the records have been filmed for your parish.

It will have to be someone smarter than me to check that reference for you. As far I am concerned the reference HO107/1539 is Bethnal Green, not Norfolk. Someone please help
