I do suppose so! Or his birth cert.
One thing we could do is try to trace the family back to see the names of their daughters and then try to find a marriage for these daughters to a Jones. Not sure for now how many possibles we'll find with names like Perry and Jones.

This might be Ann Maria's family in 1871 - no Jane or Jennie to be seen however
