I wonder if anyone has any information on the cause of death of John Mascall.  He was only 31 when he died at Longtown although the last home I have for him is in Eamont Bridge.  He was an excise officer and I wonder if he was working when he died.

If he died in 1843 you should be able to get his death certificate - that will give the cause of death.    It appears to be on FreeBMD.
