The last sighting of Alfred Mason that I can find is on the 1881 census (RG11/0259 F23 P39) where he is with his wife Julia and their four children at 42 Russell Road, London. I have searched the BMD's for marriages and deaths for all of their names to no avail so it looks (to me) as if they might have left the country. Suggestions as to where to begin searching would be welcome. Peter

Hi, Karen. I've not a clue where they have gone! The family consisted of Alfred (1850), wife Julia (1849), Children Julia Edith (1874), Alfred Oswald (1876), Herbert Noel (1879) and Ada Alice (1881). Everybody except for the youngest was born in Bradford. Ada Alice was born in London. I've looked for them on the Canada Census, with no luck so far. It looks like another reason to upgrade my Ancestry subs. Peter

I had a very quick look on a couple of US censuses with no luck, With no censuses to use in Australia, you would have to find a death record probably

Thank's Bob. At least I'm beginning to know where they aren't. They probably been mis-transcribed, although it must be hard to get Mason wrong. Peter
