1920s emigrants
« on: Wednesday 31 January 07 23:21 UTC (UK) »

Hello

My grandparents 'emigrated' to South Africa after the First World War - and sailed possibly from Liverpool via Madeira. I don't have the name of the ship but I do have several items they brought back home....tablecloths, krugers etc. My grandmother didn't like the country and they returned home to Whitehaven, Cumbria(I don't know which ship). My Grandfather was a miner and they spent all their money on the return passage and would like to find the name of the ship so I can trace their route. Their names were Annie ( nee Lowery) and Philip Denvir - Philip was known as 'Charlie'. I have info on the Denvir line and Lowerys which I would be happy to share.
Thank you
Mary
