Please can anyone help me find a death
Ann Young daughter of Allan Young and Mary Ann Reay
Born Wetheral 10.7.1833
Married James Maghie 11.11.1847 Gretna Green
Widowed 1867 At the time living in Scotsby Cumberland
Re- married John Watson a painter and decorater on 10.11.1877 Newcastle Upon Tyne
Can I have help as to find her death

Have you looked on the 1881 census to see if she is still alive? And 1901? That would narrow it down and then you can search the deaths free on www.ancestry.co.uk

I found her a long time ago in the 1881 census this is how I found out she had Married John Watson and I sent for the marriage I also noticed her father Allan young was still around
I have tried 1891 census in the names of Young, Maghie and Watson but cannot find a connection

Can you give the reference for 1881? I thought I had found her but tracing that family back the wife Ann is with John in 1871 so that cannot be Ann Maghie.
She does seem to have fallen on hard times. From being the wife of a veterinary surgeon in 1861 to charwoman in 1871with all those kids to look after.

1861 census Ann with James Maghie and her family in Scotsby
1871 census Ann is in Botchergate Carlisle with some of her family and two Lodgers
In 1881 she is with her new husband John Watson and her two youngest sons
I was looking for her awhile ago and found she had married so I sent off for the marriage and found on it her father Allan Young was still alive
I am as you would say in the black hole so I thought I would look for some deaths
