Thanks Debbie, I am researching Thomas McInnes (gggrandfather) and I located him in British Armed Forces in India 1847 and I have him in an army muster roll book in 1845, I know from his marriage certificate his father was William, I have no birthdate or birthplace. As he was enlisted in KO,S.B. I am trying Scotland. I have been working on this for a long time. I appreciate your help. thankyou. Joyce (Alberta.Canada)

Thanks Debbie, I have recently located a record of his death in Macao, China 1856,I have requested a copy of his death cert' just in case it holds any further information. His wife died in Madrid in 1855. At this time there where two young children left orphans. Two girls, one of whom became our gggrandmother, little is known. Four boys died the same year early 1850. Once again thanks for the help and the interest, makes me keep on searching.....Joyce. P.S something in your e-mail made me think . should I be able to find him with family on a census for 1851 somewhere, up to now I am only locating them on army records?

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Deb. Sometimes it seems so hopeless and then I get a little glimmer. I know that he was still in U.K in 1844(Army Muster Roll) then in 1845 I have him getting married in Madrid. So that is what I'll try for now , when the rgt; was posted overseas. Thanks so much for your interest.Joyce.
