Can you Help me please.!!!
« on: Thursday 08 February 07 05:33 UTC (UK) »

I live in Australia and I desperately need some help..I received an email from a Gentleman in USA informing me that he thought we may be related.. He was kind enough to send me Certificates and Census information but there is one Key to find out if we are connected and I don't know how to find this information..

I am seeking to find the Death of my GGG Grandfather ( who is the key to unlock this mystery).. his name was..

William Sach Baptised 28th April 1786 ( 4th child of Robert & Susannah Sach (nee Bridge)..who married in Village of Takeley County Essex.

William Sach married Maria Day @ Holy Trinity Church Village of Takeley 10th November 1805.... Maria Saich ( name change) was buried 26th January 1826 aged 48 years...

William and Maria had four children...

James Baptised 25th April 1810- my GG Grandfather Convict-transported to Australia.
Robert Baptised 18 September 1814
John Baptised 16 March 1817
Mary Baptised 11 June 1820.

Robert Saich ( Name Change from Sach ) ( 2nd son of William & Maria ) Married Ann Brooks @ Parish Church Waltham Cross County Essex.. on the Marriage Certificate is states that Robert Saich's Fathers name was William Saich- Labourer- Deceased...  If I can find out if William Sach/Saich Deceased was the same William Sach /Saich that was married to Maria and was a Widower at the time that Robert married Ann Brooks in 1840.... then the gentleman in USA is correct in assuming that we are related...

I apologise for being so long winded with this. but I have searched the Free BDM's and only found a William Sech Died 1839 Colchester...and I do not know where else to turn...perhaps  someone has access to Death Records..the family lived in or around Village of Takeley.. I have search the Holy Trinity Church records and can't find anything or... perhaps I have missed something... you keep looking and see nothing. !!!!

I would appreciate any help or information on this and any members of William & Maria Sach/Saich's family with the exception of James ( my GG Grandfather- Convict.. he never returned to England and died in Australia) and I do look forward to hearing from SKS...

Thank You

Faysie

I have looked through the full death indexes 1837(when civil registration began) to 1840, both for the name Saich and Sach.

There are no deaths for a William in the Dunmow reg area, which would cover Takely.
The only William I found at all was:
William SACH, Colchester area, Ap/May/Jun 1840, probably the one you have.

there were a few deaths in the Dunmow reg region, which may be of interest to you:

A/M/J 1838 Susanna SAICH

A/M/J 1838 Behjamin SACH

A/M/J 1839 MAry SACH

(dont know why they all died in the spring?!)

Also several deaths of SACH's in various neighbouring reg areas like Chelmsford, Braintree, etc that might be linked.
They can be searched for free on
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

Of course, your Wiiliam could have died prior to 1837.

Dear Lizdb

Thank you so very much for your reply... I shall search the results you have mentioned... from what I have learned the Surname of " Sach/Saich" was very common in Essex and the names you have mentioned could be related... Interesting that the Susanna Saich could possibly be my 4 x Great Grandmother....I do have to be very careful as there was also another Sach/Saich family living in the Takeley area the same time as my "Sach/Saich" family...

Again " Thank You" for your kindness.

Hello Fay,
I think that I might have contacted you before, only this time i have more nfo which changes my research route.  I was researching a George Saich born 1839, I had his father down as another George Saich, then a Robert Saich.  but, having received the marriage  cert for this George born 1839 discovered that HIS father was Robert, and there wasn't another inbetween.  Could this be the same Robert that you have as being one of the sons of William and Mary.  On the census is states that Robert was born in Great Burstead, but I can't find out anything for him, at all, anywhere.  Would you have any info on this Robert, like his sons names etc please.
Thanks for your time.
