having difficulty tracing this branch of the tree through the IGI. records seem a bit sporatic there.

I am researching the ancestry and descendancy of

William Clifforth Murfitt
aka
William Clifford Moffitt
b. 24 Nov 1803
chr. 25 Dec 1803 Birstall, Yorks, England
d. 12 April 1888 Beaver, Black Hawk, Iowa, U.S.A.
son of Charles Murfitt and Sarah Clifforth

Charles m. Sarah on 6 Apr 1801 in Birstall

aparently William was their only child.

Sarah d. March of 1806 and Charles remarried Martha Scholefield in Nov of 1806. there appears to be no children from this marriage.

I would love to hear from anyone who is researching these surnames in the area.
