Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me to find anything on Frederick Beck b. 1836 Bavaria? I have the following...

1861 Census - Marked as Visitor in Lambeth

1871 Census - Married to Minnie, living in Kensington

1881 Census - Married to Hannah (transcription error?), Living in Hackney

1891 Census - Married to Minnie, Living in Hackney

His occupation is given as Sugar Merchant

Bavaria is a big state, anything more precise on his origins ??

And keep an eye out for Baek, Baeck and Bäck as some possible variations, they all sound the same (to english-speaking ears)

Just found a connection on genesconnect!!

The family was from Augsburg.

Johann Frederich Francis Nikolaus Beck was the son of Johann Melchior Beck and Maria Heuman, born 1st Nov 1836.

Bob, any suggestiosn on where to find resources relating to Augsburg?
