I am seeking info on what happened to the existing inmates when the Abingdon workhouse closed in the 1930's, plus any record source listing inmates for the period 1902 until it closed.

The lead is an exceptionally good one - it answers your original questions. The Abingdon Workhouse was closed down in 1931 and the inmates transfered to Wallingford. It also tells you that the admissions and discharges registers 1916-1930 and many other records are at the Berkshire Record Office.

Currently researching: HEADs in west Berkshire (the Peasemore/Leckhampstead line). Newbury almshouses & many other aspects of the history of the area.
Harriet had 4 children baptised in Abingdon Workshouse -
Beatrice who was born Nov 7th 1893 Sidney who was born Oct 4th 1895 Ellen Rose who was baptised May 28th 1899 and Arthur Frederick who was born 16th Dec 1908
on two of these entries her occupation is given as dressmaker - there is no occupation on the other two
sorry - I can not see any further clues as to what happened to her. I do have transcripts of the PRs for Steventon if you want me to look for her baptism record
