is there any body with the 1901 census for cardigan ,who could do a look-up for me please.
i am trying to find.
william john richards
hannah richards.
plus children.
In 1904 they were living at
pen-y bont
clarach
nr aberystwyth
cardiganshire.
this address was on a post card.
i know no more about these people at the moment ,so i know its a tall order ,but any help would be much appreciated

Hi Tac,
I found this family in 1871, the baby being a John William Richards. I had no luck in 1901 with William John but he may have dropped either name by then. Looking for Hannah Richards also proved fruitless.
Henry Baker 25 London, England Lodger Aberystwith Cardiganshire
Anne Richards 34 Llanwidelan, Montgomeryshire, Wales Wife Aberystwith Cardiganshire
David Richards 35 Newmills, Montgomeryshire, Wales Head Aberystwith Cardiganshire
David Richards 6 Aberystwyth Son Aberystwith Cardiganshire
Jane Richards 9 Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England Daughter Aberystwith Cardiganshire
John William Richards 11 months Aberystwyth Son Aberystwith Cardiganshire
Thomas Richards 8 Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England Son Aberystwith Cardiganshire
I looked for births in the county from 1860 on and found the John William shown above again, born Aberystwyth Sep Quarter of 1870 Vol 11b Page 62
There are however 3 William John Richards;
Born Cardigan Sep Quarter 1880 11b 4.
Born Aberystwyth Sep Quarter 1899 11b 46
Born Cardigan Sep Quarter 1883 11b 2

thanks for your help in trying to trace this family, the children were
elizabeth
jane ann
m.e.
jennie
and wiliam john,after 1901 i think
no ages for them and not nessesarily in that order.
i couldnt find them on the 1901 either.mind you i havent a lot to go on.

Hi Tac,
Im not too sure what to do next. I would try and find a younger member of the family and work back from them, unfortunately its tricky after 1901.
If you know where the younger William John was born, and it was Aberystwyth, I would order the cert for the 1899 birth i gave you. It was the only one at that time in that area. That may then perhaps lead to the 1880 cardigan William John, you never know.
If you find out any more, let me know and il see what i can do.

as i know nothing about this family,i am at a loss as well. i am trying to find this family for my s-inlaw,and she knows as much as i do.
still you never know some one else might read it and they might belong to them.
i must admit wales is a hard place to find any body, still its fun trying
